I switched to Mint with the false promise of more data for less money. And if I only have one or two bars of LTE? Forget it - half the time I can't even make a phone call at that point. Mint Mobile has essentially made my phone very dissatisfying to use, to the point of frustration. Driving around, Spotify will go entire commutes sometimes without being able to load a song (where as it never had issues on AT&T). I used to have no issues with my fantasy football app - now, sometimes it won't even load at all (despite there supposedly being 4/4 bars of LTE). For instance, I used to be able to load Snapchat photos instantly. At first I thought I must just be imagining things, but as I've paid more attention over the last few weeks, I can see that things clearly aren't up to par.

Mind you, this is with reportedly having full LTE. everything just felt chunky and very slow all of a sudden. Immediately upon switching I was noticing significant slow down in my phone's apps - things that used to load quickly were now taking two, three, even four times as long to load. Well, now a month in, I can see why this product is so cheap. Transferring over my phone number went smoothly as well. I saw that it ran on the T-Mobile network, and figured I'd give it a shot (prior to this I had always used AT&T).īuying the SIM and getting it was a breeze. Never would have switched if I knew the product would be *this* bad.īefore buying, I checked the Mint coverage network - the website both showed me a map showing nearly 100% coverage in my area, as well as reporting that I had "excellent" coverage. Well, turns out you really do get what you pay for. Why not take the risk on $60 for 6 months, I thought. I bought the 3 month plan promotion (buy 3, get 3 free) back in August after reading about Mint.
